The Imer Gerris 800 Tracked Concrete Placing Boom: What is it and how does it work?
We’re excited to announce the latest addition to our expanding product range - the Imer Gerris 800 Crawler Concrete Placing Boom. As part of our ongoing partnership with Imer Group, we’re bringing this machine to the UK market to provide a solution for concrete placement in confined and challenging environments.
In our previous article, we talked about the launch of Imer’s Oruself 500 Self-service Batching Plant - give that one a read if you’d like to hear more about what becoming the official Imer UK supplier has meant for us.
Today, we’re going to be taking you through the Gerris 800 - including its key features, how it can improve your site accessibility and how you can go about purchasing with us.
What is the Imer Gerris 800?
The Imer Gerris 800 is a tracked concrete placing boom designed for precision concrete placement in tight or restricted spaces. Its lightweight yet robust design makes it ideal for urban sites, indoor projects, and areas with tight, difficult access. Applications include: Ecobrix houses, retaining walls, tunneling work, concrete placement inside houses / buildings.
Size & Boom Reach
Despite its small footprint (800mm x 4940mm), the Gerris 800 doesn’t compromise on performance. With a boom reach of up to 11.20 metres, it allows for efficient concrete placement in areas that would typically be out of reach for traditional equipment. Even in the most confined spaces, the boom requires just 2.80 metres of clearance to fully open.
Stability & Control
The Gerris 800 is designed to operate with maximum stability, especially on uneven ground. It features:
- Self-levelling outriggers to automatically adjust to different surfaces.
- Expandable rubber tracks for better grip and adaptability across various terrains. They retract enough to fit through a standard doorway.
- Remote-controlled operation, allowing precise manoeuvrability without the need for manual adjustments.
Weight
Weighing just 2500kg, the Gerris 800 is easy to transport and set up, reducing downtime on-site. Its combination of agility, reach, and smart controls makes it a must-have for contractors working on difficult sites where traditional concrete pumps fall short.
How Does a Crawler Concrete Placing Boom Work?
Unlike standard truck-mounted booms, the Gerris 800 is a self-propelled crawler placing boom that can be manoeuvred into position with ease. Using its remote-controlled operation, operators can precisely place concrete in hard-to-reach areas without the need for excessive setup time.
Its self-levelling outriggers and expandable tracks provide unmatched stability, even on uneven terrain. This means contractors can confidently place concrete in demanding locations without worrying about equipment limitations.
